The parking ban last year came in response to the state’s closing of the Nantasket Beach Reservation to curb the rising number of coronavirus cases. After the state fully opened the beach, the town asked it to cut parking in half due to overcrowding. Parking was limited to 500 vehicles, half its normal capacity.

Parking at Nantasket Beach will rise from $10 to $15 per day, and to $20 a day for out-of-state visitors. The same new fees will be charged at the Lynn Shore and Nahant Beach Reservation.
