Whats the difference between a target and a Super Target?
A Super Target is a Target store with an expanded selection of grocery and general merchandise. Super Targets have delis and sell a larger variety of meat. There’s just more stuff, not necessarily different stuff. They seem to do okay in certain regions, but Target has pretty much abandoned the concept.
Why is target called Target?
The name “Target” originated from Dayton’s publicity director, Stewart K. Widdess, and was intended to prevent consumers from associating the new discount store chain with the department store. Douglas Dayton served as the first president of Target.
