Gonadotropin (HCG) is a hormone that is produced in the placenta of a woman during pregnancy. HCG is excreted from the body with urine, and then cleaned in the laboratory. In medicine used for the prevention/treatment of disorders of the menstrual cycle in women; underdeveloped external genitalia in men. For the purchase the drug, having a prescription is not required.
Gonadotropin in bodybuilding: how to take?
HCG is used in bodybuilding to stimulate the production of sex hormones, as well as the work of testicles, which contributes to improved spermatogenesis. Athletes often take it during the AS cycle to prevent testicular atrophy. Apply gonadotropin during post cycle therapy is not recommended, as it may interfere with the cycle recovery. Still, athletes sometimes take it during the PCT after a heavy/long cycle of anabolic steroids, however this is only done on the condition that the drug is not used on the cycle.
Most often gonadotropin is used in cycles, the length of which exceeds 6 weeks, or if one used several drugs. The injection of the drug begins after 2-4 weeks of beginning of the cycle. The injection is performed 2 times per week (250-500 IU). Attention! The use of the drug does not end after the last injection of the steroid, but after the moment, when AS is deduced from the body. Next step is the PCT.
On long, so-called “eternal” cycles HCG is injected on a permanent basis, but every 4-5 weeks you need to take a break for 7-10 days.
Please note that the use of this drug for anabolic purposes is impractical, as the effect of it is less than steroids. Moreover, in order to obtain a satisfactory result, it is necessary to introduce a large amount of HCG (approximately 4000 IU/week or more), and the use of gonadotropin in large quantities can seriously disrupt the hormonal system, which will affect the hypothalamus/pituitary gland/testis.
How to inject gonadotropin?
Injection HCG can be purchased at the pharmacy, no prescription required. It is presented in the form of a dry substance in an ampoule, a special liquid is applied to it, which is intended for its dissolution. After mixing, the drug must be injected into the body by intramuscular injection or subcutaneously. Please note, that if you do not use all drug, the dry part should be stored in a dry, dark place at temperature not above +25°C, and the remaining liquid should be placed in the refrigerator (keep no more than 2 weeks after the moment of opening).
Human chorionic gonadotropin side effects
This drug is relatively safe for health in small doses (up to 2000 IU). Dosages in excess of 4000-5000 IU can lead to side effects like testosterone (acne, gynecomastia, etc.).
